Neuroendocrine Section

The Neuroendocrine Section operates within the professional and legal framework of the Hungarian Association of Endocrinology and Metabolism (MEAT).

The Hungarian Neuroendocrine Section counts about one hundred members representing national research and clinical centers. Hungarian neuroendocrinology has gained an international recognition due to breakthrough scientific discoveries achieved in the last century. Above and beyond the preservation of traditions, our Section aims at maintaining accomplished achievements, sustaining and developing leading professional activities with undiminished energy.

Due to its integration with MEAT, the Neuroendocrine Section has become a member of distinguished international professional organizations.

Main aims of the Neuroendocrine Section:

  • Expanding and deepening skilled communication among Hungarian professional clinicians and basic scientists working in the field of neuroendocrinology
  • Supporting the skilled development of the talented
  • Advancing the training of young neuronedocrinologists with up-to-date graduate and postgraduate teaching courses
  • Introducing neuroendocrine research centers, strengthening national and international activities on collaborative research and joint grant applications.
  • Promoting the development of current research infrastructure in the field of neuroscience and neuroendocrinology
  • Supporting innovative industrial relations, encouraging basic and applied research and development
  • Strengthening the representation of interest of neuroendocrinology
  • Organizing professional forums
  • Further strengthening and developing the relations of the Neuroendocrine Section
